A late goal in the third period by Chris Kreider lifted the Rangers to the Game 6 victory in Pittsburgh, keeping their hopes of a Stanley Cup alive.

Both clubs have gone multiple years without a playoff series win. The Rangers have not advanced past the first round since 2017; the Penguins have not since 2018.

Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby left Game 5 after a hit from Jacob Trouba, and his status for Game 7 is unknown. He had been the team’s best player up until his injury, leading the team with nine points.

On the other side, Adam Fox and Mika Zibanejad have been the key players for New York. Fox has nine points in six games while Zibanejad has eight.
