What channel is the NASCAR race on today? What time does the NASCAR race start? These are the questions that plague race fans every Sunday with the varying Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series schedule that places races on either Fox or FS1 for the first half of the 2019 season with differing start times.

Monday’s Gander RV 400 can be seen on FS1 with coverage beginning at 12 p.m. ET. Live streaming of the race is also available on the Fox Sports Go app or can be watched on fuboTV, which offers a free seven-day trial.

The race was originally schedule for 2 p.m. E.T. on Sunday afternoon, but following over two hours of delay for rain, NASCAR decided to move the race due Monday given the fact Dover International Speedway has no lights.

The Gander RV 400 is a return to short track racing following a crazy and crash-filled Geico 500 at NASCAR’s longest track at Talladega Superspeedway. Dover International Speedway is a 1-mile oval with 24 degrees of banking.

With Chase Elliott’s win last weekend at Talladega, there have now been five different winners in each of the Cup Series’ last five races (Elliott, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin). Despite that being the case, Busch is on a torrid start to the season, finishing in the top 10 in 12 straight races dating back to last year, with three wins through this season’s first 10 races. He also has a precedent of success at Dover, with 12 career wins across NASCAR’s three national series on the Dover track.

Elliott would seem positioned well to build off his success at Talladega given that he is the defending champion at the Monster Mile, but the track has produced six different winners in its last six races. Kevin Harvick is the most recent driver to have won in Dover twice, taking the checkered flag twice in the last seven races.

Not far off of Busch’s lead in the Cup Series standings is Joey Logano, but Team Penske drivers have not fared well on this track. Penske’s last Monster Mile victory came from Brad Keselowski in September 2012. Team Penske won 41 times on 21 different tracks since its most recent Dover victory.

Jimmie Johnson will look to tie Darrell Waltrip for the most successful driver at a single track as he goes for his 12th career win at Dover International Speedway.

All three of NASCAR’s national series returned to single-car qualifying at oval tracks this week, scrapping its five-year group qualifying format after the new rules package installed this year had the unintended side effect of drivers gaming the system.
