And it’s not Texas-Oklahoma.
Sonny Dykes’ 17th-ranked TCU team (4-0) will travel to Lawrence, Kansas to face off against Lance Leipold and No. 19 Kansas for the Week 6 “College GameDay” game of the week. It’s the first time the teams have met as ranked opponents dating back at least to the 1952 season, when No. 17 Kansas beat No. 9 TCU 13-0.
Needless to say: This is not a game that many had circled on their schedules. But Dykes and Leipold have their teams playing inspired football, and they will be rewarded with the eyes and interest of observers across the country.

TCU’s undefeated start under Dykes is notable, but not earth-shattering considering the level of sustained success the Horned Frogs enjoyed under former coach Gary Patterson. But Leipold’s ability to transform a chronically awful Jayhawks team into a squad one win away from bowl eligibility is the early-season story of the year.
That starts on offense, where the Jayhawks have the 13th-ranked scoring offense in the country (41.6 points per game). Kansas has playmakers all over the field, starting with quarterback Jalon Daniels (983 passing yards, 11 touchdowns to one interception). Kansas also has a bevy of talented runners in Daniels (335 yards, five touchdowns), Devin Neal (333 rush yards, four touchdowns) and Daniel Hishaw Jr. (357 scrimmage yards, six total touchdowns).
TCU’s offense is no slouch either, ranking second nationally in total offense (549.5. yards per game) and scoring offense (48.5 points per game). Quarterback Max Duggan has driven the offense with 997 passing yards and 11 touchdowns to zero interceptions, while Kendre Miller has led the way rushing with 386 rushing yards and five scores.
Could this Saturday meeting be a Big 12 barn-burner? Only one way to find out — and The Sporting News has everything you need to watch.
