Sunday night will mark the second meeting between Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa, two quarterbacks who are inextricably linked in NFL history. Tagovailoa was taken No. 5 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, while Justin Herbert was selected with the next pick by Los Angeles.

Early returns from Herbert had some second-guessing Miami’s decision to go with Tagovailoa over the Oregon Duck, but those calls have quieted down a bit.
Well, after a couple of down years — and a massive infusion of talent on the offensive side of the ball for the Dolphins — not many are questioning Tagovailoa’s standing as a franchise passer. Things have gone swimmingly for the Dolphins, but not as much for the Chargers, who have had to deal with injuries all season as well as mitigating returns from coach Brandon Staley. Still, Los Angeles is still in it at 6-6, largely thanks to solid QB play from Justin Herbert. But they desperately need to start stringing wins together to keep their playoff hopes alive.
